What types of media do you accept?

Magnolia Memory Co currently accepts only VHS tapes. More media options will be added in the future. Stay tuned!

What will I receive?

You'll receive digital copies of your memories in an easy-to-use format that can be viewed, shared, and backed up.

Delivery options may include:

USB flash drive
Download link
External drive (customer supplied)

Will I get my original items back?

Absolutely.

All original tapes, photos, slides, and negatives are returned to you after digitization.

How long does the process take?

Turnaround time depends on the size of the project and current workload.

Most small projects are completed within 1–2 weeks.

You'll receive an estimated completion date when your order is accepted.

Can old or damaged tapes be digitized?

Often, yes.

However, aging media can sometimes have issues such as:

Mold
Physical damage
Deterioration
Recording errors

While every effort is made to recover and preserve your memories, results will depend on the condition of the original media.

Will the digital copy look better than the original?

The digitization process preserves your media as faithfully as possible.

The quality of the digital file cannot exceed the quality of the original recording or photograph, though minor adjustments may sometimes improve visibility.

Do you offer pickup and delivery?

Yes. Local pickup and delivery may be available within east Ascension Parish, Baton Rouge, and surrounding areas.

Can I ship my media to you?

Currently, I am focusing on local orders. However, I may accept orders to be shipped on a case-by-case basis. Shipping and handling costs will apply. Contact me to discuss this service.

Are my memories kept private?

Yes.

Your materials are treated with care and respect. Files are never shared, viewed beyond what is necessary for processing, or used for marketing without your explicit permission.

How long do you keep digital files after delivery?

Completed digital files are retained for 30 days after delivery to allow for re-download if needed.

After that time, files may be permanently deleted.

Customers are strongly encouraged to maintain their own backups.

Are my memories safe?

Magnolia Memory Co will make every reasonable effort to safely digitize submitted media. However, given the age and condition of most VHS tapes, there is some risk that your memories may not be recovered. Please read the service agreement for more details.
